Welcome to Iowa Organic Farms!  We're just getting the business started.  It will be a little tough going for a while until we get the rest of the pages designed and posted.  Bear with us.

We won't have most of our products ready to go until 2009, unfortunately.  Once we have final site selection completed, we'll get  things planted.  Of course, we will be employing natural, organic methods.  There is a restriction on organic certification that requires the land to be organic for 3 years before formal certification can be granted.  Rest assured, we will be operating according to organic requirements, even if we can't achieve formal certification or use the organic seal for several years.

This Spring we are starting with 10 bee hives to produce honey and other apiary products.  Since this is the first year, the bees have spent most of their time, energy, and honey building up the wax in the hives, so our honey harvest will be pretty small this year.  Next Spring (2009), we will be adding more hives, and should have honey and other products from these initial 10.
