Iowa Organic Farms, LLC, is located in Panora, Iowa, about 35 miles west of Des Moines.  The company was established in 2008. 

Currently, our only product is raw, extracted honey.  We will consider adding other natural apiary (beeyard) products later this year (comb honey, lotions, lip balm, etc.) depending on the market.  In future years we plan on expanding our offerings into the following product portfolio

• Organic berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc.)
• Organic fruits (apples, pears, melons, etc.)
• Organic grapes
• Beverages (fresh juices)

This is a long-term vision, as the grapes alone will take 4 years after planting to produce a full harvest.  Organic certification alone will take at least 3 years (to certify the land and, therefore, its products as organic).

We are currently investigating properties that meet our requirements and would like to complete the purchase this fall for plantings beginning in the Spring of 2010.  We should have a partial portfolio in production by Fall 2010, with the remaining products coming online through 2013 (and beyond for any additions to the mix).

Of course, this plan is subject to change (as are all business plans).  One thing that will not change is our desire to bring to market natural and organic products and to increase local awareness of the environmental and health risks we face from unnatural and chemically treated food products.
